Weekend update

Seriously guys,

This was the BEST weekend ever! I don't even know where to start, so I guess we'll start with Friday!

My sister lives in Ontario, so clearly I don't get to see her as often as I would like but shes in Calgary for a month! We basically had to fit all our fun into one weekend because it was the only weekend we would get to spend together :( - Side note - 3 days till my flight leaves for Ontario!

Anyone who's seen down to Calgary knows its not all that great when you've spent most of your childhood downtown Toronto. Sure we have the Calgary tower which isn't much to look at if you been to the CN tower ... Anyway she wanted to see the sights so I took her! she was completely unimpressed! - But like I said there isn't much to look at! We took a nice drive around town, and decided to wake up early on Saturday to drive out to see the Rockies!

We left Saturday morning around 8:30am and begun our road trip, first stop Lake Louise.

Isn't she beautiful? - The drive up for the most part was good, until we hit white out conditions and I almost lost control of my car! But I was able to correct it with a little coaching from my sister and we were on our way, well after doing 40 for what felt like an hour! - Next on the list was Banff, I'm not sure why but i didn't take any pictures of Banff.  However the view never gets old!

I  SURE LOVE ME SOME MOUNTAINS!!

We got back to Calgary, picked up some chicken and called it a night. Well my sister did, I ended up going to Greg's and kicking it with our homies, well he played League of legend - Seriously, cant believe I'm dating a gamer! -  However everyone who Greg lives with I met before I met Greg so I consider them my friends too! we laughed, we drank, I passed out by 12:30, I'm just way to old to keep up now a days!

Sunday I spent hanging around Greg's until I felt some energy and got a brilliant idea ... take your sister to see more mountains!

We drove out to Elbow Falls which is in the town Bragg Creek. Its literally in the middle of a mountain. You can do a full 360 and the mountain never disappears. My sister probably spun in a circle 4 times well saying this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And it is. Anytime I get a chance to leave the city that's my number #1 go to spot! No service, great views & lots of room for nature walks!

After we got back to the city, we went down town to find this little Caribbean restaurant. Finding it again was a little harder then we thought, but eventually we got to the restaurant and had some delicious Oxtail.

We had the deepest, conversation. A real eye opener about the way we were raised, however that's another story for another day!

Hope y'all had a good weekend!

Cheers
Xo

That Friday Blog Hop

Well my fellow readers, I cant say too many exciting things happened to me this week, but i can tell you the most exciting thing that has happened to me so far this year!

As most of my readers know (because i posted it in the last post before this, geez try and keep up will ya?!) I work for a dealership company and I get to travel around Canada (Soon to be north america, just waiting on that passport! - Side note * fill out and BRING the paper work to the passport office kalleen!!*

For the first time EVER! my company is sending me to the wonderful town of Stirling, Ontario. Okay, maybe Stirling isn't a wonderful town but its the closet to home work has ever sent me so that makes it wonderful. The town is about 30 mins away from my Amy & Pocks house so I'll be able to go home every day and have sleep overs with 2 of my favorite boys in life. Not to mention I have a whole week to spend time catching up with friends and other family members. I even booked off a few extra days and had work fly me in 2 days earlier, and leave 2 days later so I can spend more time with the family. All for the low low amount of $37. That's right guys! I just paid $37 to go home for a total of 10 days (only 4 of which I have to work) can I get a hell ya?

That's all I really have to say for the day! Its been a pretty quite week, so Ill just leave you with some HILARIOUS meme's!

Side note, I def came into work today thinking it was only Thursday ....

Its 2016?

With this being a new year, there's prob a lot of new year new me bullshit! However, that's not what this post is about because I think I'm perfect, and don't have to change a thing! What this post will be about is ... how the fuck is 2015 almost over and what did I even do?!

I would have to say I really feel like 2015 was my year to shine! I've be able to take part in so many great ideas that I never thought were possible!

I started my current job as 2015 was a month away from starting, at the time I knew it was going to be an amazing job but I didn't know how amazing! To make a long story short / sum up my job description, basically I work for a software company that specializes in car dealership software. Half of my job (Sometimes the boring part) is phone support. If you need to know how something in parts department portion of the software works, I'm your guy girl for the job! The best part of the job is usually at least once a month I get to travel to a new city to teach the parts department at different dealerships how our software works. This will happen when the dealership purchase's our software, the company flies us to the location to train the departments for usually one week.

That part of my job has been the best part! Its allowed me to have quality time with family when a work trip requires me to travel to Ontario, and it allows me to see beautiful places I've never seen!
In Feb, I got to go on a trip to North bay, On and while I was there my dad was able to stop in and say hello!

In May I was able to go to Vermillion, AB and really connect with some co-workers who I seriously have grown to adore!

In October I was able to fly to BC for the first time and stay in the rainiest city in the world Price Rupert. - Side note, this photo was taken on the ONLY day it did not rain all week!

As well as Wallaceburg, ON. My favorite part of that trip was spending time with my brother, his wife their 3 children ...as well as the bestie Rachel, catch up with Christine, and spend sometime with Rachel's 2 daughters.

In November I spent 2 weeks in One Of Canada's Most Dangerous Cities Grande Prairie, AB. To be honest, it was cold and it sucked! On a brighter note, I was able to spend some time with my cousin, meet his fiancĂ© as well as 2 of his children! - Side note, I LOVE baby cuddles!!!

As for the final month, I was able to go to Halifax, NS for the first time, and also had a chance to catch up with my childhood friend, Melissa!

Its been a crazy busy year with work, and I wouldn't have it any other way! As far as my personal life, it was a little bit of a rollercoaster ... I met a boy, we dated, did some cool shit, broke up and now were back on! If I said he didn't steal my heart I'd be lying. We have had more down's in the last 6 months then up's it feels at times, but I'm not ready to give up on him!

However there were a lot of other exciting things to happen!

In April, I flew home for 5 glorious days. All for the love of the game ...

Also got to meet my first bio-niece Acasia (left) and my nephew Jesiah (right)

One of the best moments of the year however happened during May 2-4 weekend!
Had a visit from THE best friend! - All sorts of shenanigans happened

Wondering where I've been?

Welcome friends!

Its been a long time, and i know i've said this before but I'm back at least once a week im going to try and post something, even if its just a funny picture to describe me week. I miss writing and reading other blogs. The blogging community can be a really fun exprience. I cant wait to get in touch with some old bloggers, and hopefully meet some new ones!

Anyway, heres a break down of my crazy life over the past 2 years!

Currently I live in the beautiful city of Calgary,AB.
June 2013, I decided enough was enough. I needed a life of my own, I needed to get a life, and get my shit together. In my home town work was slim pickens. I tried for months and months to find a new job, without taking a pay decrease. I had been at the same job for almost 5 years with no desire to grow within the company, and I hated the job so much I eventually dropped to part time then my doctor placed me on stress leave. Which turned out to be the best day, that job was sucking the life out of me I needed an escape.

Sept 2013, was my first day in calgary. To this day the 5 day drive from Ontario to Alberta was one of the most beautiful things I've seen. It was a bit of a rought start, my first job was doing outbound calls to ask if people were interested in having their furnace ducts cleans. IT WAS THE LONGEST THREE MONTHS OF MY LIFE. I couldnt do it anymore I was just as unhappy as I was at my last job so I quit. Thankfully I was able to get hired on at a dealership as a part time receptionist. That following summer I took vacation and went home for the first time in almost a year. You really truly never know how loved you are or how much you truly love someone until you spend extended time apart.

Eventually I become a full time receptionist, however a few months later I was let go from the job. At the time I was upset however, that experince combined with my call center experience lead me to my current job of 10 months. This job is everything I ever wanted in a job. It allows me to stay in touch with technology, travel the world, and still be in touch with customers.
A typical day at the office includes me taking phone calls from some of the most wonderful people I've had to deal with at dealerships who are having an issue with the software (company I work for) usually its a learning curve and the software works fine the customer just wasnt sure how it actually worked. Sometimes there are problems, at that point theres a lot of testing we try doing to either figure out why its not working, and how to correct it. The best part about the job happens outside of the office.
When a dealership purchases our software the company flies a person for each department at the dealership to train them- I'm on the parts team. So far I've been able to travel to Northbay,Ont. Vermilion,AB. Prince Rupert,BC. Next stops include Wallaceburg,ON. Later this month, Grande Prairie.AB in November and Lindsay,ON in December.

Life has been a rollercoaster these last 2 years a lot of ups and some downs. And I would love to start sharing everything again.

Until next time,

Took a visit home

Hey fellow bloggers..

Its me the person who promises to blog more but never does, so here I am with a promise to try and
blog more!

Its been almost a year since I left home and I have no regrets, or need to move back to Ontario anytime soon. A lot of people said I couldn't do it, that I'd quit and move back home because I'd miss my friends and family to much. Jokes on them! Now don't get me wrong I miss each and every person that I love back home, and I'm crushed that I'm not around to see my friends move on with their life. Sometimes I wish the world would stop and nothing would change then I wouldn't feel like I'm missing anything that's happening in their life's.

My Amy moved into a beautiful home in the country, MASSIVE yard, central air annnnd a dishwasher. Two of my best friends had a baby, and all the little boys in my life are either big boys now, or starting to become a man (equipped with the voice change and everything).

After seeing how much everyone had change, some of my friends even have new jobs, and new houses. However other than the new things everything else felt the same. I heard that after 7 years of a friendship with someone it will become a lift time friendship. I couldn't agree more, in fact writing this post is making me tear up thinking of what wonderful amazing friends I've left behind. Big thanks to Amber and Deb, without you to my trip would of felt impossible, you guys really helped me out, guess that's what best friends are for.

Ontario was a fun time, don't get me wrong but my trip back home verified that there is nothing there for me anymore. Its not a place I want to live, and a part of me always knew it wouldn't be the end of my journey. I'm glad its not, I'm from a town where nothing every changes, everyone I knew as a acquaintance still had the same drama they had last year, the towns looked the exact same (Minus the downtown, got some beautiful trees near the bridge...I know how exciting) It was like I never left. It's such a boring little town, especially after 6 on the weekend, don't expect to get much shopping done, almost everything is closed.

Three years later I also got to spend some time with my dad, not a lot actually the most time we spent together was driving from and to the airport, but I enjoyed the time we did get to spend together. I knew Id be busy when I got home, but I didn't think Id be that busy. So busy I thought Id let all you followers see what I did for 9 days in Ontario, also it will help me remember the little moments of my trip!

When I landed on Wednesday the 6th my dad picked me and my starving ass up and we grab some breakfast, and headed back to his place for my surprise. I got to see 3/5 of my nephews it was amazing I was so glad to see them, couldn't believe how big they were. Especially Hensley he's 14 and taller then me ?! WHAAAT. After visiting with the boys I headed to Belleville, on. To see one of the few people who mean the world to me, my brother. It was a scene right out of a movie. I ran out of the van, he ran out of the apt, we hugged he lifted me an spun me around and then hugged me one more time before putting me back down. I spent a few minutes with him, and saying hi to my mom and their neighbor's before leaving for Amy's house. When I got there I dropped my bags and ran right for Amy I've never been so happy to see her in my life, I definitely miss her a lot more now then I ever did. Next was Geoff, I was equally excited to see him as well, after all I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for them! They didn't tell Hudson I was home yet, so after the 3 of us hugged it out Geoff went inside to grab Hudson. Hudson just stood at the door with a shit eating grin on his face until I stretched my arms out and he came running full steam ahead right into my arms. He was at least a few inches taller and rocking a Mohawk I told him I loved it he told me " I knew you would keen."  We ate dinner and headed to baseball (Some things never change). During baseball I played with Hudson, watched Amy and Geoff hit some balls, and seen my aunt and 2 of her children. After baseball we headed back to Amy & Geoffs to relax and wait for Jacob to get home from his out of town baseball game. When he finally got home I was so happy, I love this kid to the moon and back, he'll always be a baby to me, no matter how old he gets (after all he was the first child to make me decided I would never become a teenage mom. Not that I didn't love him, I just helped his mom out so much that I learned first hand how hard it was to deal with a baby from the age of 13). I jumped off the couch and ran straight towards him and hugged him so tight, it wasn't until I was ready to let go and I looked him right in the eye I started to cry. FULL ON TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE!! My little baby wasn't a baby anymore, hes a huge 15 year of with arms and calfs of someone in their mid 20's, not to mention his height, since we did we become at eye level! Every thing was to much I couldn't hold the tears in, so I just gave him another hug. We ended up just sitting around for the night shooting the shit just like old times.

The next morning on Thursday, Amy drove me to my moms house and I spend the day with my brother and some friends. I hung out with my brother for a little while at the house, then took him of for breakfast to my favorite little diner in town, "Debbies". After breakfast we met up with some of my brothers friends who I was dying to see again and relaxed for a few hours. Mid afternoon my best friend since grade 3, Carissa came to pick me up so that we could go to lunch with our other best friend/my favvvvorite cousin Larrissa, who brought he son Logan with her. The lunch was great, that's when I realized its true, " Good friends care for each other, great friends understand each other, but true friends stay forever. Beyond words, beyond distance, beyond time." Having lunch with those two ladies proved that point. Everything was the same as it was when I left, distance didn't change us and I never thought it would!
When lunch was done it was time to do visit with one of the few people who gave me a reason to come home. A little girl name Autumn who stole my heart months and months ago, Autumn is Carissa daughter. I waited almost 11 months to meet her, and it was the best meeting I could ask for. As soon as I walked in the door she was all smiles, so happy to see me, crawled right over and everything. I was excepting that she would take at least a few moments to warm up to me but she came right over like she was waiting for that moment just as long as I had been waiting. I hung out with Carissa, her boyfriend Adam and Autumn for few hours then I had to leave, more people to see.
I went for dinner with a good friend Vanessa at Lonestar and caught the new movie Tammy starring Melissa McCarthy(Which was HILARIOUS).. Again, nothing changed it was like I just saw Vanessa yesterday. After the movie I went back to my brothers house to hangout some more with him and spent the night.

On Friday went dress shopping My cousin Tara is getting married next year and asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. (feel free to insert always a bridesmaid, never a bride jokes here.) We made a day of  I tried on a few dresses, we stopped for lunch and head to my aunts house (Tara's mom) and spent some time watching Tara try on a few wedding dresses my aunt had found for her. We headed back to Amy's later and I spent the rest of the night relaxing with the boys well Amy & Geoff went out.

Saturday was the day I had been waiting all year for. Jacob is a baseball player for the Quite Royals back home, and they've had an awesome year. Last year Jacob started pitching, and he found his spot. Left hand pitcher? watch out MLB!! When I finally got to see him on the mound I had goose bumps! I cant believe the form and attention to the game he has. We ended up leaving half way through the game to make it back home on time for Amy & Geoff to get ready for my cousins wedding. I had my friend Colin aka the farmer (Who to clarify is not actually a farmer, just a silly nickname) pick me up and we hung out for the rest of the afternoon. Later that night Amy had a bon fire and some of my friends came out to have some drinks, then we hit the bar in town called "The Social" (what a 'fun' little place...but then again, fun is what you make it.. and did we ever have fun!)

Sunday morning I borrowed my friend Debbies car, and headed to Toronto with the little brother. Some how along the way we completely missed the exit and ended up 40 min's out of our way. By the time I figured out where we were going (which included trying to find a Tim Horton's, and then when that failed we found a McDonald's , I really need to stop being cheap and get a data plan so I don't have to drive around looking for free wifi..or get a GPS!) Oh and since I'm that cheap I also refused to park in Toronto and pay $40 for parking at the rogers center, so I parked in Scarborough for free at the town center (where I also got lost because I AGAIN missed the exit and had to stop to find wifi). By the time we got to the Rogers Center it was 4:30, and I was far from impressed. I kept telling my brother we should find something else to do the game started 3.5 hours ago its probably over by now, he really wanted to go so he talked me into it. I'm glad he did because when we got there it was the 8th inning. Still I was so mad I could of cried I cried thinking that I'd only get to see 1 inning of baseball, Until blue jays got a run and tied the game, nothing happened in the 9th, so we went on to the 10th inning, the 11th inning, the 12th inning finally by the 16th inning my brother and I decided its to hot, and it felt like the game was never going to end so we left and explore downtown Toronto. They were filming scenes for the new movie Pixel didn't see anyone famous, but it was the first time seeing a movie set so it was definitely cool. One of the best days that I've spent with my brother. We got home around 11:30 that night and crashed hard.

Monday I was hanging out at my brothers & visiting with friends until Amy came and picked me up. Spent some time at Amy's with the fam, and then Monday night I had a sleep over with another best friend Amber. We laughed and laughed and laughed, all well making fun of her daughter. It was great to finally meet jess .. hey jess if your reading this SLOW DOWN!

On Tuesday I borrowed Ambers Van because I had a apt in Trenton for my brother Jordan, and then we hung around town visiting his friends making sure he said goodbye to everyone since it was his last night in town as well, he decided to move to Calgary with me which was awesome because I don't think I could of handled another goodbye. Later on Amy made our first family dinner in almost year, it was amazeballs:) I relaxed a little with the boys and that night I had a sleep over with Deb, I needed her car in the AM to do some last minute visiting.

Wednesday was our 2nd last day in Ontario so I spent it with Jordan driving him around visiting friends and family that we didn't get to see yet. After visiting everyone we needed to, I brought the car back to Deb with my cousin Kortney who I randomly picked up along the way. We went shopping for dinner which Deb started right away after we dropped off Kort. Later that night Kortney, her friend Elise (who is without a doubt one of the sweetest bitches I've ever met! Miss you girls already!!) Audri and Lisa came over to eat with Deb and I. After Dinner Audri, Lisa and I headed over to Audris house so I could see her Son B. As soon as I came up the stairs and he noticed me he rand right over and gave me the biggest hug, not to mention the longest! I love that kid just like he was an actual nephew, I have been friends with Audri since we were 10 months old, so that's as close to family you can come without the same DNA. B and I had a blast hanging out with his step brother and playing with toys and taking silly pictures. A little while later Deb came by to pick up Lisa, Audri and I and we headed down to the local dive bar "The Duke" met some interesting people, laughed a lot, headed for the strippers, played some pool and left before 11pm because I didn't want to be tired the next day! (I'm so old!) Lisa ended up giving me a lift back to Amy's house. I stayed up with Amy & Geoff for a little bit, then we all headed to bed.

Thursday morning was filled with tears right from the moment I woke up. I knew it was my last day and I felt so full of mixed emotion I couldn't wait to get back to Calgary, but at the same time I wasn't ready to say goodbye again. I wiped my tears and came up to the kitchen early in the AM so I could see Amy and Geoff before they left for work, and that's when the tears came full speed. I went back to sleep for a little bit until Hudson woke up. Then it was cuddle time, we laid in his bed watched TV before finally deciding to get up and play. We played all morning and into the afternoon until his grandfather came and picked him up. Saying goodbye is always hard but I felt saying goodbye this time was a little more easier then last time when I cried for about 14 blocks after dropping Hudson off at the sitters before I left last year. Deb came to the house and picked me up, we made a stop at my moms to pick up my brother and so that I could say by to her and her neighbor's. We hit the road and headed for Oshawa to my dads house. Once we met up there, dad drove us to the airport and we all had a tearful goodbye as he watched his 2 youngest children leave the province.

The plane ride back seemed to be so long but that's probably cause I was so excited for my brother to finally be out here with me, being without him this last year definitely wasn't easy. Finally we landed just before 11pm and my Aunty picked us up at the airport.

Its been about a week since I've been home, Jordan seems to be settling in well for the most part. Cant wait to see what our futures will hold out here in the wild wild west..

Until next time,
Xo

Saturday, April 5

Sorry for the delay..

Howdy,

Not sure if anyone's even reading this ol' blog any more, but in case you are I'm bacccccck.  For good, at least I hope. Been a little MIA because I've been loving my new life here in Calgary!

Since I haven't really posted anything since basically after the pictures of my road trip, some of you might of thought I was dead, but I'm not.. here I am living life away from blog spot. Turns out was the best part of my job at Stream back home was the I had 8 hours a day 5 times a week to blog, turns out when your not sitting in front of a computer all day life really does happen!

So here's what I've been up to.

Experiencing the weather of Calgary, at first it was great. I could straighten my hair, and 3 days later there still wouldn't be any curls. No humility it was great, and now my hair is actually growing, probably because I don't have to straighten it twice a day any more. Hurrrrray! Another great thing is the chinooks, getting +10 weather when Ontario was sitting in a ice bath surely made my day. However, we got a HUGE dump of snow, and staying in -40 for 2 weeks before Ontario even got snow so I deserved the bragging rights!

If you've been following my blog you know all about Ryan so i'm not going to go into detail about the past, Ryan and Rachel are now living in Edmonton, 3 hours away from me. With my beauuuuuutiful princess Paypay. Aka Payton Elizabeth! I've never had a baby girl in my life before, so I'm definitely enjoying being an aunt to my first niece! Even if she didn't appreciate the fact I took her to get her ears pierced, hopefully next time I take her to get something pierced ..or tattoo'd she wont cry and give me evil stares like the ear piercing incident.

Any way, Ryan's come along away, he's a great man and an amazing father. I couldn't be more proud of the things he's over come these last 2 years. If someone had of said to me 5 years ago that Ryan would be happy, settled, engaged, with children, a house, and the early stages of starting his company, I would of said Ryan who, anyone who follows the post might be confused as well. But no, its the truth. My druggie best friend is now my clean calm-ish level headed best friend. Feels great to say that about him.

After procrastinating for a few months I went out and made it official. I know have a registered address, Alberta health care, and a Alberta drivers licences.Fun fact, I hear from a friend of a friend of mine .. ;) ..that if you have unpaid tickets and let your licence expire in one province and then move to another, they'll just give you a full licences in the next province.

The hardest part about being away from home, is the little things that trigger your memory. Warm days make me miss Audri and the beach. Little boys make me miss my little mom's. Mothers and daughters hanging out, makes me wish I spent more time with my Amy as well as my Mom. Hearing and seeing my friends having fun on Facebook, is more depressing then not. I'm happy I'm here, I'm happy they're having fun and still living a positive life (not that I'm vain enough to think life wouldn't go on without me). I'm just wishing that we were all together, or that maybe there wasn't so much distance between us. When Carissa And Kate had their babies I wanted more then anything to be there for them, and to get to meet those beautiful girls. However I needed to learn that I am going to miss big events, but that doesn't mean I cant be apart of everyone's life, just means we have to try harder to make relationships work.

Speaking of relationships, again if you've been following my blog you know that I haven't spoken to my dad in a few years because I couldn't look past the lies that he had been telling my siblings and his wife. The fact that he denied being the father of my younger brother was unacceptable to me. My aunt pointed out that basically life is to short, and that my father really hadn't done anything to me and I had a right to be upset but he didn't owe anything to me, he never lied to me, he always supported me. Right up until the lie was revealed he was my best friend. I finally reached out to him, and he was sorry for everything that he has every done to any of his children, he explained to me that if he could take it back at any point he would, but he cant we can only move forward. I agreed with him, I could hear that he was sorry he explained to me why he did those things, and where his life was at before and after he met my mom. Most of what he was saying I could understand and it made sense. We agreed to move forward, and I must say I'm pretty happy with our decision.

I'm definitely happy with my weight which verys between 155-160 depending what I ate that week, or if its "Shark Week", its been quit the journey over the last 3 years. Some days were hard, others were easy. I'm not sure how I was so lucky to be able to lose the weight easily compared to other girls. I didn't join a gym, I didn't go crazy on diets and work out plans. I made fun of it. I did exercises that I found fun, dancing and squats and sit ups, running in the spot. All those things become fun when you mix Lil' Wayne in the mix! As far as the diet part goes, its not hard to figure out what's healthy and not healthy the ingredients are right there on the bag/box. If you don't understand them, Google them. Control how much your eating, and remember there's a huge line between food control, and starvation. Another thing I cant stress enough, WATER WATER and MORE WATER.

Here's my results from the last 3 years.

This is the last picture taken before the weight loss journey.

The only other thing that's new is my amazing job. Thanks to my Cousin Sheena,

I got a job at Honda. Its amazing I love it. The people are great, the money I make is great. I never thought I would enjoy going into work everyday!

Well in a nut shell that's what's new with me!
